Less people, off shore winds, proper swells, don't you just love it.? The cove has really been quiet and the time has come for the local surfers to get their teeth into some classic September sessions. Enjoy these shots of the local stand outs.

Sennen Dog Qualifies As Lifeguard
When your're in the water you'll find comfort in knowing that our beach has a very qualified, very unique life guard. The lifeguard is only five-years-old and reaches stranded swimmers using the doggy paddle. Bilbo is a Newfoundland and the first fully qualified canine lifeguard in Britain. He and his owner patrol a busy beach at Sennen Cove and while all the children think Bilbo is just a cute, cuddly and friendly dog, which he is, the Newfoundland is also trained to save stranded swimmers.
All surfers are required to wear leashes in the water on sennen beach.
Lifeguards are issuing £50 fines for those who don't. The soul surf
longboard crew didn't agree with this at first but realised it was for the
best as they don't have to swim back to the beach every time they fall off!
Wetsuit Thief!
Local chef Jamie D' silver had his new o' neil wetsuit stolen the other nite
from the cove. BE WARNED the northern chavs are in town and hungrier than

Ripcurl Boardmasters
Sam Smart (pictured) surfed in the WQS Newquay boardmasters on tuesday.
Unfortunately he turned up late for his heat and only managed to scrape 2
waves in the 4-6ft blown out conditions at fistral - he finished 3rd in his
heat. On a higher note his younger brother Seb Smart (pictured with friend
Bert) is enjoying an all paid for surf training camp in France. Seb would
like to thank his sponsors Ripcurl for the great experience.

ASH MOFFAT MEMORIAL
The famous Ash Moffat memorial rodeo took place in Sennen last weekend. Mother nature provided fun surf and sunny conditions for the occasion.
The contest was based on having fun and the competitors were scored on their individuality and originality. The locals had plenty. They took to the water on fridge doors, inflatable dolphins , 10 ft pop outs, belly boards and the list goes on. Stand outs included Liam Baker who surfed upside down most of the time, Ben Vavruka who was pulling off naked grab - willy floaters and Kirstin Gorvin who surfed the final completely naked.

Andreas Martin and charles Field were also banging out some funky moves. The contest was sponsored by Andrew Prowse of Sennen Boardriders and a great day was had by all.
SURFTECH DEMO
The surftech demo rocked at Chapel Idne, Stokesy , Bleakers and the Smart bros. were there to offer advice, while the guests tried out the huge range of boards provided by the surftech team. Huge thanks to all who helped out.
SHARKS
Loads of basking sharks have been spotted off Sennen recently, a few of the locals swam out to them but soon swam back after realising how big they were - no one was injured as these beauties are no threat to humans or surfers!
These exclusive Cornish whispers are 100% genuine and where they come
from................no one will ever know.
The surf has pumped this week and the local stand outs are Tristan Jenkin on
his new Tufflight, the Old Success charger Andrew Prowse, Lee Madern
(bottom lft) and Steffan Lord (pictured left) who has been surfing well but....local surfers have been
complaining about his snaking and dropping in.(bad boy!)
Congratulations to (Seb Smart bottom right) and Christain Jackson for finishing 2nd and 3rd
in the under 14s rip curl grom search.Seb also came 3rd in the under 16's
devision.
They both surfed very well and proved once again, Sennen has plenty of raw
talent!
Relentless energy drink! have you tried it? You can buy it from the
Bluelagoon fish bar and the Old Boat House Stores in Sennen. Its designed for
surfers etc and the groms can't seem to get enough of the new rocket fuel.
Chapel Idne surf shop are hosting a surftech demo on the 1st/2nd July, 2006 - this will give
everyone a chance to try out the new Tufflight boards and meet Alan Stokes
and Sam Bleakly.
